After graduating from the then Royal Technical Institute in 1989, Dorji Wangchuk joined the National Museum of Bhutan as a laboratory assistant in 1990. Since then he worked in various positions at the museum from laboratory assistant to conservator and then as museum assistant. He played an important role in setting up the first conservation laboratory at the museum and initiating conservation measures. Instrumental in supporting the administration of the museum in construction of new office building, visitors’ car parking, and above all in the renovation of the Ta Dzong as the focal person from the museum administration.
