Two days hands-on training on retrofitting of rammed earth building was conducted by Department of Culture from November 3^rd to 4^th 2021 in Dangchu under Wangduephodrang Dzongkhag. Engineers, carpenters and masons from various Dzongkhags joined the training. The objective of the training was to create an understanding the concept and work procedure on retrofitting measures while developing their skills the implement the method properly through hands-on experience. The participants learned the step by step procedure to retrofit the building, which included fixing welded steel mesh to both face of the wall, which is later connected together by nuts and bolts. Over the mesh, a cement plaster was applied.
