Chhoedey Lhentshog, the Commission for Religious Organizations was established in 2009 as per the Religious Organizations (RO) Act 2007 endorsed by the 87th National Assembly to protect the spiritual heritage of Bhutan. The office is mandated to facilitate the establishment of religious organizations that are not under the purview of Zhung Dratshang (Central Monastic Body). It endeavors to promote harmony within religious organizations and monitors activities of ROs to ensure their compliance with the RO Act and their own Article of Associations (AoA).

Sangay Dendup is presently serving as a Chief Program Officer for Chhoedey Lhentshog. Before joining the present post, he worked in the Division for Cultural Property under the Department of Culture for around 12 years. He studied at Language and Cultural Studies Institute and did B.Ed from National Institute of Education, Paro. Later he pursued Bachelors of Arts in Language and Cultural Studies Taktse, Tongsa and completed Master of Arts (Public Administration) from Noida International University, India. He is an enthusiastic researcher and has researched and wrote many articles on culture and history of Bhutan, with focus particularly on sacred sites.

Jamyang Chojay is a Program Officer at Chhoedey Lhentshog (Commission for Religious Organizations of Bhutan). He served as Dzongkhag Tshogdue Secretary at Trongsa and Wangdue Dzongkhag prior to his transfer to the Chhoedey Lhentshog. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Economics and Environmental Studies from Sherubtse College. He has extensive knowledge on Disaster Management having served as the Dzongkhag Disaster Management Officer. His research interest includes understanding the spiritual heritage of Bhutan and upholding the native spiritual heritage throughout the generations.

Kinga Pemo is an Administrative Assistant at Chhoedey Lhentshog (CROB), Department of Culture, Thimphu. She worked at the office of His Majesty’s Secretariat, Regional Office of His Majesty’s Representative, Regional Office for People’s Welfare, Mongar dzongkhag and Trashiyangtse Dzongkhag before joining the Chhoedey Lhentshog. She completed class XII from Yangchenphu Higher School. Her key works include general administration, reviewing documents of new registration, managing the Chhoedey system management (CMS) and office inventory.
